Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These terms cover your use of Podato, at podato.io and app.podato.io. By creating an account or paying for a plan, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data, and our Refund Policy explains when you can get your money back.

Who we are

Podato is run by Ryan Mulchrone, a sole trader based in England, trading as Podato. You can reach us at support@podato.io.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to use Podato.
  • Keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what the people you invite to a show do there.
  • Use an email address you check. It's where we send account and billing messages.
  • The free trial is one per person. Don't open extra accounts to get more free use.

Your shows and your content

  • Only add a podcast you own, or one whose owner has asked you to manage it.
  • You own what you put into Podato, such as transcripts, audio and notes, and what Podato writes for you.
  • You give us permission to store and process your content, including sending it to the services listed in our Privacy Policy, only to run Podato for you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • To do its job, Podato reads your show's public feed and listings and researches public information about your show and your guests.

Podato uses AI to write drafts and research guests. AI can get names, facts and quotes wrong, so check anything before you publish or send it. You're responsible for what you publish, and for the emails you send to guests through Podato.

Using Podato fairly

Don't use Podato to:

  • upload or publish content you don't have the right to use;
  • do anything unlawful, or harass, mislead or spam anyone;
  • get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or probe, break or overload our systems;
  • scrape Podato, resell it, or copy it to build a competing product.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we'll tell you why first.

Plans and payment

  • Free trial: you can try Podato without a card. The trial's limits are shown in the app.
  • Plans: each show has its own plan, Show or Grow, paid monthly or yearly. Prices are on our pricing page, and the price in your currency, including any tax, is shown before you pay.
  • Who takes the payment: plans are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout, which is the merchant of record. Link takes your payment, sends your receipts and invoices, and handles sales tax and VAT. Your bank statement shows the charge as LINK.COM followed by Podato.
  • Renewal: a plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel it.
  • Cancelling: cancel any time with Manage billing in Account settings. You keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for and aren't charged again.
  • Changing plan: moving to a bigger plan takes effect straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. Moving to a smaller plan also takes effect straight away, and the unused part of what you paid becomes credit toward your next payments. Moving from yearly to monthly on the same plan takes effect when the year ends.
  • Failed payments: if a payment fails, Stripe retries it and you keep access meanwhile. If it keeps failing, the plan ends.
  • When a plan ends: the show can't process episodes, write or research guests until it has a plan again. Nothing is deleted.
  • Price changes: we'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you. It starts at your first renewal after that, and you can cancel before then.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deleting it cancels its plans straight away and permanently deletes your shows and everything in them. It doesn't refund the rest of a period you've already paid for.

Changes to Podato

Podato is new and changes often. We may add, change or remove features. We work to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

If we ever close Podato, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any yearly plan.

Our responsibility to you

  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.
  • If you're a consumer: we're responsible for loss you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill.
  • If you use Podato for your business: we're not liable for lost profits, revenue, business or data, or for indirect loss, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid for Podato in those 12 months.

Changes to these terms

We'll email you about significant changes at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using Podato after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree with them, cancel your plans and delete your account.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can hear any dispute. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also bring a claim where you live, and you keep the protection of your local law.
