Your first write-up
Find the titles, description, show notes and social posts Podato wrote, then edit, approve or regenerate them.
Once an episode is processed, Podato writes it up: title ideas, a feed description, show notes, promos and social posts, all built from that one read of the episode. Everything lives on the episode's page.
The write-up
Open the episode's Write-up tab
Open the episode from Episodes, then choose the Write-up tab. If it hasn't been written yet, choose Generate write-up. Each section appears as it's ready.
Pick a title
Under Title, open Alternative suggestions to see the other ideas, and choose Use this title on the one you want. Generate new writes a fresh set.
Read and edit
The Feed description, Promos and Show notes sections each have Copy and Edit. Choose Edit, change what you like, then Save. Reset puts Podato's version back.
Ask for a different version
On the feed description or the show notes, choose Generate new. Under What should be different? (optional), say what to change, for example "shorter paragraphs" or "lead with the guest", or leave it blank. Then choose Regenerate. For titles and promos, Generate new writes a fresh version straight away.
Approve what's ready
Switch a section from Draft to Approved when you're happy with it. The count at the top shows how many of the four are approved, and Copy all or Export takes everything with you.
Social posts
Social posts are on the Promotions tab. Choose Generate social posts, and Podato writes posts for each channel you publish to.
- More writes extra posts for a channel. The ones you already have stay.
- Add sends a post to your Social planner, where you plan when it goes out. Add all to Ready sends the lot.
No posts? Podato needs to know where you publish. Choose Pick your platforms to set them.
Plan and post them
Choose Social planner in the sidebar. It opens on your Week: a row for each platform and a column for each day. The posts you've added wait in a list on the left, under Up next and Ready.
- Choose Posting rhythm at the top of the page to set the days and times you like to post on each platform, and your time zone. Those times show on the week as dashed open slots.
- To plan a post, drag it onto its platform's row. It takes that day's time from your rhythm. Or click the post to open it, pick a day and a time, and choose Plan it.
- Fill my week, at the top of the page, puts waiting posts into this week's open slots. Undo puts the week back.
- On a phone, the week is a list of days. Fill my week, Posting rhythm and Undo fill are in the Fill menu at the top. Choose Fill on an open slot to fill just that one, or Set a time on a post that's waiting to pick its day and time.
- To post, click a post to open it and choose Post it. X, LinkedIn and Threads open with your words already in. For Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, Podato copies the words and opens the site, and you paste them in. Either way, the post is marked posted. Changed your mind? Choose Undo in the message that appears, or open the post later and choose Not posted after all. To keep the post's link, open the post again and paste it under Where it went out.
- On a phone, a post with images goes through your phone's share sheet, so the images go with it. So does every LinkedIn post. Post it copies the words and shows the images with what to do next. Choose Share to Instagram (or the platform you're posting to), pick that app from the row of apps (swipe along or tap More if it isn't there), then paste the words in. The post is marked posted once you've shared it.
- When a planned post's time comes, it shows at the top of the planner, and a number next to Social planner counts how many are waiting to go out.
Podato doesn't post for you yet. You post each one yourself, in a click.
Quotes and highlights
The Highlights tab has the episode's Notable quotes, word for word from your transcript, plus its notable moments and chapters. If you edit a quote, Revert to verbatim puts the original words back.
